Andaman Sea

Similan-Richelieu
Similan is by far the most beautiful group of dive sites in Thailand and one of the best areas for diving in the entire world. The Similans, located about 100 km. Northwest of Phuket, are composed of nine granite island covered with tropical jungle. In these dive sites, the most popular activity is drift diving among healthy coral gardens and their reef inhabitants. Some dive sites offer more exhilarating diving, as currents swirl around the huge granite boulders-some larger than the largest of houses. The divers should enjoy the Similans for what they are justly famous for : magnificent coral growth, prolific fish life, crystalline waters and sensational underwater rock formations.

Visibility : 12-37 m.

Richelieu Rock located north of Similan. Richelieu is a small submerged rock and one of the best places in the world for swimming with our gentle giant, the whale shark. Encounters with these animals-the largest of all are rare, almost any place in the world. Besides the appearance of the whale shark, Richelieu offers lush sort corals, large schools of pelagics fishes as well as countless small organisms. Recently we had a chance to observe cuttlefish in their courtship behavior on almost every dive.

Visibility : 5-30 m.

Tachai is notable for both its profusion of marine life and its interesting underwater topography. The best diving is along a submerged ridge that runs south from the southern end of Tachai Island. It is constructed mainly of hard corals and large rocks, around which schools of spacefish-such as the Pinnate Batfish. And it is a place to see not only the more common tropical fish, nut larger animals such as manta rays, Leopard sharks and nurse sharks. But whale sharks make an appearance on a regular basis.

Depth : 22-30 m.
Visibility : 9-30 m.

Surin Islands have the best-developed coral reefs in Thai water, and some extraordinary underwater excursions are readily acdessible to snorkellers as well as to scuba divers. The outstanding feature of the site is a natural arch of boulders and school of zebrafish (a species of lionfish) hangs out here. Off the western side of the island, at about 12 meters, a variety of hard corals carpet the seafloor. Turtles are commonly sighted here, as well as Blue-ringed angelfish are numerous.

Depth : 5-20 m.
Visibility : 9-18 m.

Hin Muang - Hin Daeng    
Hin Muang (Purple Rock) Depth range from 18-34 meters, with an abundance of marine life.  Hin Muang is totally submerged and completely covered with lush purple soft corals and colorful seafans.  It is one of the best sites for viewing Manta Rays, Whale Shark. 

Depth : 8-60 m. 
Visibility : 15-30 m.

Hin Daeng (Red Rock) is one of the best Thailand’s divesites.  The southwest slopes to sixty meters, creating a stup wall of soft corals.  Leopard Sharks are often seen in this area, as well as frequent Whale Shark and Manta Rays.  The east side gently slopes off to a depth 30 meters, divers are likely to encounter huge school of Tuna, large Barracudas.

Visibility : 15-30 m.

   

 


Myanmar

Lying some 165 km., Northwest of Similan Islands. Reef-fish are plentiful, but the real thrill of diving here is watching out for whatever might emerge from the deep blue : the remoteness of the banks means that oceanic visitors are common.
Western Rocky: The first impression of the diving here was that of distinct topography made up mostly of boulders, forming many swim-through, with average visibility with its abundant reef fishes and healthy corals, would be ideal for amateur divers.
South Twin & North Twin : Bordered by shallow sandy bottom with gradual slopes, featuring good diving, The sites home to a vast variety of reef dwellers.
Black Rock & Little Torres : If there is any creature that you wish to see, this is the place to see it. Big size silvertip sharks, eagle rays, leopard sharks, nurse sharks, whitetips-they are every where. The sites are rich with life-literally underwater gardens with healthy soft coral.

Spratly Islands

The Spratly Islands are located 300 km. off the coast of Borneo.  There is little doubt our liveaboard is most productive way to experience the Spratly Islands best dive sites.  The reef topography is essentially made up of a rich growth of hard corals break the surface during low tide, plunging up to 2,500 meters to the ocean floor.  Most dive sites follow a similar profile with the reef top starting at 5 to 10 meters and sloping steeply down.  Gorgonian forests are virtual forest of fabulous sea fans along the slopes in the 15 m. – 40 m. range.  The Hammerhead Sharks, either solitary, swimming close to the reef or in a school along the wall in the open water.  The pristine previously inaccessible reefs await our discovery.  There remain few place on earth where you can appreciate coral reef in such a pristine site.  This present you with a once in a life time opportunity to explore the unknown dive sites.
